courtesy!

A Simple Act of Kindness

The other day, I stopped my car to let a woman cross the road. Her reaction caught me off guard—her face lit up in disbelief, followed by a grateful wave. It wasn’t just appreciation; it was surprise. And that made me think—have we, as a society, stopped expecting courtesy from one another?

Life moves fast, and people are often too preoccupied to notice small opportunities for kindness. But it’s in these moments—giving way to a pedestrian, holding the door for someone, greeting a stranger—that we make the world a little better. These gestures cost nothing but can brighten someone’s day in ways we may never realize.

What if kindness wasn’t the exception but the norm? If we all embraced small acts of courtesy daily, our communities would feel warmer, safer, and more connected.

Let’s make kindness a lifestyle, not a rare surprise. Because a little courtesy goes a long way.
